  • Brasstown Bald Buster 5k

    4.27.2024

Gear up for The One and Only Brasstown Bald Buster - Georgia’s highest 5k! With only one hill onthe entire course, we might even call this one flat and fast. Nah… just kidding…

Brasstown Bald Buster in 2024, is proudly hosted by Project 42 Running. Whether you're a speed demon or a leisurely stroller, everyone's invited to take on the challenge of conquering Georgia's highest peak in this scenic 5k road race. BBB5K has 1700 feet ascent over a 3.1-mile road run. It's not just a run; it's a scenic, challenging, and classic adventure. What more could you ask for?

Run or ruck for fun, or if you're feeling gutsy, go for Adam Pinkston’s course record of 24:40, standing tall for over 30 years.

There is a $5.00 parking fee per person. Bring exact change, please. It's not for us; it goes to the Cradle Of Forestry, the guardians of Brasstown Summit.

Back by Popular Demand, The Brasstown Bald Ruck Division! Men will carry 25 lbs, women will carry 15 lbs. Choose “Brasstown Bald Ruck” when you register. You've got 2.5 hours to Ruck to the Top of Brasstown Bald. It sounds generous, but trust us, it's a challenge.

Prizes are up for grabs for the top 3 men and women overall for both the 5k race and the ruck. Hauling 1700 ft in 3 miles with weight on your back - you've got 2.5 hours to show what you're made of. Better start training!

Wondering where the action's at? Head to Brasstown Bald Visitor Center & Recreation Area, 2941 Highway 180 Spur, Hiawassee, GA 30546.

Everyone gets a T-shirt and a medal, but register by April 10th if you want to guarantee a shirt. Miss the deadline? No worries, you can still join, but the shirt might be a distant dream, as we order in advance.

We would love it if you made a day of it! Explore the beautiful North Georgia mountains, even if you're not running or rucking the 5k. Brasstown Bald offers a fantastic paved path which is under a mile long for a leisurely stroll with mind-blowing views. The race is surrounded by miles of trails in scenic Union, Towns, Rabun, and White Counties. And don't forget to check out the nearby town of Helen & Vogel State Park – they're favorites for many!
